Hong Kong being known as Asia's World city, Hong Kong SAR Government always emphasizes that Hong Kong people are equipped with international vision. However, "human rights" is limited to some vague understanding of the concept in the society, awareness of international human rights conventions is even less.

Why human rights relate to social work?

The core value of social work is based on the respect and protection of human rights. The premises of social work are to meet the needs of people and developing the potential of human beings. The service clients being served by social workers come from all walks of life: different social class, age, sex, gender, occupation, academic background, race and sex orientation.
